The mayor of the Sucre municipality, José Vicente Rangel, reopened the Isaías Medina Angarita outpatient clinic, in the community that bears the same name, located in the Petare parish, where general medicine, dentistry, gynecology and pediatrics services will be offered to residents. .
Liliana González is the spokesperson for the El Gran Sucre Commune, made up of six communal councils, which have health committees in operation.
“In this clinic 2.172 families are attended, which have been registered in the different communal councils, where, in addition, we have records of people in vulnerable situations, such as children, pregnant women, the elderly, people with disabilities, patients with chronic illnesses and in bed situation, to whom we offer care
special, ”he explained.
He indicated that from this health center they also carry out a family planning program, especially aimed at young people, men and women, for the prevention of early pregnancies, which includes guidance so that they fulfill life projects, complete regular studies and they can also learn some art or trade.
"We are currently coordinating with the authorities of the Mayor's Office of Sucre special days for the placement of contraceptive devices, and lectures are offered to raise awareness of the responsibility of being parents," said González.
He asserted that they also organize a program to offer health services to people who are bedridden by virtue of suffering from some type of disability or who are elderly, and cannot travel to the outpatient clinic. All this in order that they have a family doctor and they can collaborate with exams and delivery of medications.
For his part, the mayor of the Sucre municipality pointed out that this work is part of the care policies to improve the health service.
“In the midst of these difficult times of pandemic, we are rehabilitating and equipping outpatient clinics, we activated the mobile pharmacy program, ultrasound service, care in the communities themselves with the Famisalud program, we made improvements in the Pérez de León I hospital, we promoted vaccination days and we promote the Humanized Childbirth, Breastfeeding and family planning plan, in the different mission bases, among other programs ”, added the local president
