The immense dunes of the Médanos de Coro National Park, in the state of Falcón, have an oasis among the sand mountains to enjoy palm trees, a swimming pool and a fun atmosphere with the whole family.

The feat of walking through this Venezuelan desert and then finding a space that invites you to cool your bodies with a warm breeze that emanates from the sands and a resplendent sun, is a great attraction for those who decide to choose this adventure destination.

The Bohíos of Caquetío Falcón provide the necessary shade to regain strength and properly air-conditioned cabins to get caught between entertainment and comfort.

Not only will you enjoy this beautiful paradise in the middle of the desert, you also have the option to go to other places, because from here trips are organized to the beautiful beaches of the Paraguaná Peninsula, including Cape San Román. You can also take a night route through the Historic Center of Coro to learn about the heritage value of the country's first city.


The recreation center has six double cabins that cost $28 per night; three duplexes with capacity for four people at a cost of $55 and a triple to accommodate six people for $100. These prices are maintained throughout the year, without varying during the holiday seasons.

The team in charge of the center, with around 30 people directly, ensure that they distinguish themselves by offering first-class care. You also have other options if you do not want to spend the night in the oasis. You can only have access to the pool with a bracelet that costs three dollars, with the condition that consumption takes place on site. This service is offered from 11 am to 6 pm; Although if you are staying you can enjoy the pool at night, under the moonlight.

If you want to hold a celebration, in Los Bohíos Caquetíos you will find rooms for private parties and business training, with capacity for 150, 70 and 50 people. Prices range between $150 and $400.

You will also have the option of making your barbecue in the three huts; one large and two medium, with their respective grills included.

The Medanos

The Médanos de Coro were declared a national park in 1974. It is located between the municipalities of Miranda, Colina and Falcón. It is located 20 meters above sea level, on the way to the Paraguaná peninsula. The park covers 808,66 kilometers from the north of Santa Ana de Coro. Dunes are sandy formations that move in a changing way due to the action of the trade winds that blow from east to west. They are characteristic of the relief of the Falcón state and the dunes rise to 8 meters above sea level. The declaration of a protected area allows the most important desert in Venezuela to be preserved.


  • How to get? It is located at the end of Paseo Monseñor Iturriza, in Coro, at the entrance to the city. If you are coming from the center of the country, it is a few meters before reaching the La Madres monument, you must cross on the right.
  • Where to eat? The Bohíos restaurant offers pizzas, tequeños, hamburgers, hot dogs, broaster chicken, soft drinks, snacks and alcoholic beverages.
  • Schedule. The center is open 24 hours a day to welcome travelers. They also work for reservations with travel agencies in Caracas, Maracay and Barquisimeto.
