The brand estimates to market 500 units of both models in one year. The price of the TX diesel version is U$84.000 and the WX gasoline version is U$87.000.

With a history of more than 6 years in the country, Toyota de Venezuela launches its Land Cruiser Prado model in Venezuela, directly imported from Japan adapted to the needs of the Venezuelan market.

The two versions that have been marketed since this month of June correspond to the fifth generation of the Land Cruise Prado line, now only manufactured in Japan for the world market, according to Mateo D'Abrizio, Senior Vice President of the organization.

“This is a global launch and it has finally arrived in Venezuela, a completely renewed Prado truck, which seeks to return to the roots, to the spirit of the Land Cruiser vehicle, with straighter, more solid finishes, adapted to the Venezuelan market with a new chassis, new suspension, new engine,” D'Abrizio stressed.

These vehicles will be available at any of its 47 dealerships with a suggested price of $84.000 for the TX model, and $87.000 for the WX, with VAT and IGTV included.

The company already offers 100 units available to the Venezuelan market throughout the dealer network, in addition to those that come in transit from Japan. Likewise, it is estimated that 500 units of both models will be sold annually.

Two versions TX diesel and WX gasoline

The new Land Cruiser Prado has two versions: the TX, with a 2.8 turbo diesel 1GD-FTV engine with intercooler, with an 8-speed gearbox and a 200 horsepower engine. It has two rows of seats with capacity for 5 people, fabric upholstery and center and rear differential locks. Available in white, black and metallic bronze with black details.

“It is a larger truck than the previous version and we are truck pioneers in bringing a truck with these characteristics with a diesel engine, seeking to satisfy the demand of that client who requires traveling long distances, as it has a capacity of 110 liters of fuel. , for an autonomy of 1.100 kilometers,” he stressed.

The WX model, jumps like the luxury version of the Prado model, has a 2-liter 2.7TR-FE gasoline engine and 6-speed gearbox and a 160 horsepower engine, with three rows of leather seats for a capacity of 7 passengers and available in a variety of 6 colors: white, pearl white, black, black mica, dark gray metallic and bronze metallic.

Like the TX version, it has a dual fuel tank with a capacity of 110 liters. Some of its features to highlight are: full-time 4×4 traction with center differential locks in this version.

D'Abrizio assures that the chassis of the new generation Prado "comes with 50% more robustness and the suspension is completely redesigned with greater travel, which guarantees comfort and safety when driving the user."

In both versions, electric power steering (EPS) is incorporated for the first time for the Land Cruiser line, which offers greater confidence when driving in extreme conditions and comfort compared to its predecessor. They also have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both versions have multimedia controls, telephone and cruise control on the steering wheel, as well as 12-Volt connectors on the rear console. The WX version adds 3 USB-C HDMI in the front console and 2 USB-C in the rear.

In terms of safety, it stands out that both contain 8 airbags distributed between the front, knees, seat sides and curtain, for the safety of
all. besides.

Toyota vehicles are supported by the Toyota Scheduled Maintenance Plan for preventive vehicle inspections completely free of charge for 2 years or 40.000 km, whichever comes first.

Likewise, the service “Your Toyota insured” is offered, a product created in alliance with Seguros Mercantil and Seguros Caracas. “Both companies promised that they will recognize vehicle repairs at any of the brand's dealerships,” said the vice president of the brand in Venezuela and announced that soon the service will also be available for used Toyota vehicles.

Better to go to dealers

D'Abrizio assured that Toyota Venezuela constantly monitors its dealers so that the prices suggested by the organization are respected and their suggested prices are transferred to the end customer and avoid speculation in the prices of the brand's vehicles.

This phenomenon can be seen in the direct marketing of importers of the brand that do not belong to the dealerships, since the prices can be well above the margin estimated by the organization, which is why Toyota Venezuela suggests that interested parties go to the dealers and compare prices, in addition to the advantages offered in the brand's certified establishments, such as the maintenance of the brand's warranty and after-sales service with the “Your Toyota Insured” program.

The compact ones are coming

Toichi Komatsuda, executive planning and product manager of Toyota Venezuela, reported that the brand's assembly plant located in Cumaná, Sucre state, is still inoperative. “We are constantly evaluating the possibilities and opportunities to restart operations.”

“Our motto is to bring happiness and smiles to our clients and that is why we diversify our clients based on their mobility needs and that is why we offer many models with various price ranges and we continue studying the possibility of bringing more economical models to the Venezuelan market. Within the automotive industry, the compact vehicle whose price range is lower both to acquire and maintain is called segment A. Right now we are in feasibility studies, they will soon have news about that,” he commented.
