The National Superintendency for the Defense of Socioeconomic Rights (Sundde), applied the preventive measure of temporary closure against the chain by department Traki, located in the El Recreo Shopping Center in the Capital District, for not complying with the radical quarantine, social and voluntary established to stop the spread of covid-19.
The Minister of Popular Power for National Commerce and superintendent, Eneida Laya, reiterated that only establishments dedicated to the sale of food and medicine are authorized to work, among other prioritized services during the radical quarantine.
According to a note issued by the Ministry of People's Power for National Commerce, during an inspection procedure, the officials attached to the Sundde detected that the aforementioned establishment was selling non-essential products such as clothing, footwear, household items, among other items not authorized due to the state of health emergency that the country is currently facing due to the pandemic; In addition, non-compliance with biosafety regulations was evidenced.
Likewise, the public servants of the Sundde reported the non-observance of the official exchange rate, established by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), for commercial transactions in foreign currency for those clients who require to use this payment method.
Institutional information reveals that this department store had already been exhorted not to market products other than food after being audited last March, but when it did not comply with the rules, it was sanctioned with the temporary closure measure in guarantee of the health of users.
