This weekend the Casa de la Cultura "Maestro Claudio Castillo" was reopened in the town of Santa Cruz de Aragua, after undergoing a profound process of restoration and modernization of its facilities.
Mayor Erick Ramírez, who led the reopening ceremony, accompanied by his Secretary of Culture and Father Jesús Díaz Dagger, parish priest of the Cathedral of Maracay, explained that the seats, the floors and the 20-ton air conditioning system were recovered; in addition to the installation of state-of-the-art LED lighting on the stage of the “Professor Benito Parra” auditorium, which has a capacity for more than 250 people, being the third largest theater in the state of Aragua.
Likewise, the Art Gallery “Lcdo. Alfonso Pacheco Brito ”, where a collective exhibition of painting and sculpture is presented with works by local artists such as Lismar Blanco, María de la Luz Fuentes and Jorge Suarez, among others.
He also highlighted the restoration of 7 rooms, as well as floors, columns, doors, windows, furniture and the facade of the house, as well as the waterproofing of the ceilings and the remodeling of 4 bathrooms.
For his part, Rogers Pereira, in charge of Culture in the municipality, stressed that the modernization of the House of Culture is a claim to popular cultists, where art, culture and national folklore will be promoted.
