Actress Francis Rueda has set the tone in Venezuelan performing arts for five decades. Theatre, television and cinema have seen the performance of this lady, who belongs to the permanent cast of the National Theater Company (CNT).
She is currently participating in the show Destino: Libertad, which this Monday the 15th and Tuesday the 16th will have performances at the National Theater of Caracas from 3:00 in the afternoon.
However, Francis does not only read texts and scripts to interpret her great roles: “I read everything. The first novel I would recommend is One Hundred Years of Solitude by García Márquez, "which I read 100 years ago (laughs), but which always remains in my memory and is beautiful."
From Venezuela, "I love Cumboto: a tale of seven leagues by Ramón Díaz Sánchez, who tells you in a very entertaining way the history of our country."
She also recommends to the theaters or not "to read the entire theater of Santana, Pinto, Chocrón, Chalbaud, of the new generations who are very good like Gustavo Ott and other younger ones, who write very well".
She also asks people who are immersed in the world of the stage, “to read the Greek theater, the American one, everything in general. I think it is very important to know the theater and playwrights well in their diverse and interesting manifestations "
