The president of the Center for Cultural Diversity, Benito Irady, expressed the commitment that the institution he directs has in making known the national elements of Venezuela that were declared before Unesco, as Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Irady also made reference to the practitioners of llanera music, especially the representatives of the states of Apure, Guárico, Barinas and Portuguesa, who have the responsibility of preserving Venezuelan culture.
In this sense, Guillermo Jiménez Leal, who is a researcher of the traditions of the plains, described the significance of the letters that he calls "songs of work" taken into account by Unesco as Intangible Heritage of Universal Culture. These melodies are sung at the time of herding and milking, a custom that distinguishes our name. / MPPC Press
