Two arrested for illegal sale of Covid-19 tests

José Jesús Aparicio Nieto and Jhoan Alberto López Herrera were detained by the Bolivarian National Guard, whose officials seized a batch of tests to detect Covid-19, military sources said. 

The arrest of Aparicio and López took place on Holy Thursday in the Platanillal sector, Atures municipality, Amazonas. The subjects were traveling in a Chevrolet truck, model NPR, plate A94B7G, coming from Puerto Ayacucho and which was heading to Puerto Samariapo (Ama).  

The truck carried 300 blisters of Lyquin, 150 rapid tests for Covid-19, six malaria containers, 24 units of alcohol, 24 units of Inverted Cup and 28 units of Sterile Lancet. 

Aparicio and López were handed over to the Public Ministry where they opened a procedure for illicit marketing of drugs.
