Approximately 13.391,958 Kg of drugs from Colombia were seized in 896 procedures, as a result of arduous intelligence work as part of addressing the world drug problem against Structured Organized Crime groups (Gedo) in the country.
The information was confirmed by the National Anti-drug Superintendent, M / G Richard López Vargas, who, through his official account of the social network Twitter @LopezvargasR, asserted that some 261 aircraft were also neutralized in the 2011-2021 period in Venezuela.
López wrote on his Twitter: "To date we have seized 13.391,958 kg of drugs from Colombia in 896 procedures in which we have detained 1.200 as a result of constant and permanent work by all our institutions with competence in the matter."
Next, he explained that “a total of 261 aircraft have been neutralized in the period 2011-2021 in Venezuela, of which 69 were seized and / or recovered as well as 192 disabled, immobilized and damaged with a protocol that corresponds to the identification, location and contact ”.
It should be noted that on February 19, 2021, the National Anti-Drug Superintendence was created, with the aim of giving a greater institutional, civic-military-police rank to the fight against this scourge in the country.
During a ceremony held in the Ayacucho Room of the Miraflores Palace, the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro signed the decree to make the instance official and appointed M / G Richard López Vargas as National Anti-Drug Superintendent.
On that occasion, the head of state stressed that since the office of the Drug Control Administration (DEA) was expelled from the country, the national government undertook an unwavering fight, emphasizing that Colombia concentrates 70% of the largest cocaine production in the world.
