Two men were killed after confronting officials from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) of the Bolivarian National Guard in the San Joaquín sector, Miranda municipality (Los Puertos de Altagracia), Zulia, according to military reports.
Those killed are known by the nicknames El Perro and Niño Loco, members of the band founded by Erick Alberto Parra Mendoza, alias Yeiko Massacre. They fired a 12 gauge shotgun and a 9mm pistol. The subjects are part of the group of eight that attacked the GNB post located in Santa Rita (Zul) with firearms on May 3.
In that event, First Sergeant Dega Rodríguez Moreno was assassinated and three firearms were stolen. After committing the attack, the criminals fled and on the way kidnapped Robert Enrique Blanco Ferrer (1) and Juan Carlos Rodríguez (25). Both were rescued through a joint operation carried out by agents of the GNB and Axis Against Kidnapping, Special Actions Brigade (BAE) of the Cicpc in the El Mecocal farm, Miranda municipality, Zulia between Tuesday and Sunday. During the rescue, there was a confrontation with members of the Yeiko Massacre group, one of whom was killed.
At the site of the skirmish, officials seized clothing used by the attackers at the GNB-Santa Rita (Zul) post, such as bulletproof vests, 5.56-caliber ammunition and tactical clothing with logos that read “Comando Yeico Massacre.
Due to the attack on the aforementioned military establishment, Danny José Ballestero, Ender Elis Ferrer Lugo and Judit Ángela Carrasquero, captured in the La Orilla and La Segunda sectors of the Santa Rita municipality (Zul), remain detained.
The authorities continue the operation to find the others responsible for the attack.
