Subject carried a grenade on public transport

A subject who was carrying a stun grenade inside a public transport unit was detained by agents of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), according to military reports.

The procedure was carried out at the La Aduana Citizen Service Point, El Amparo, José Antonio Páez municipality (Guasdualito), Apure. At that site, the military searched a public transport vehicle from Peru. One of the passengers, identified as Mario José Quiñones Campo, showed nervousness when approached by GNB officials. 

And that is when they asked him to open his briefcase in which he carried a tear gas device, a stun grenade and a telephone equipment, according to a report from River Detachment 353. 

According to what was reported by the detainee, he was heading to the Guárico state. 

The subject was handed over to the Public Ministry to be prosecuted for illicit possession of war material. 

At the Citizen Service Point located in El Cruce (Trujillo), the military detained Carlos Javier Godoy from whom they seized a sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.

And in the San Roque sector, Miranda municipality, Carabobo state, GNB officials assigned to the Rural Commando Detachment 41-1 detained José Alberto Leon Chiazzece who was transporting a 12-gauge shotgun which was confiscated.

In the Alto Sucre sector, Maturín municipality (Monagas), the military arrested Julio José Villalba from whom they confiscated a 9 mm Zamorana pistol. 

 The Public Ministry was notified of the procedures.
