This Friday the Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, presented seven Venezuelans with the National History Prize in the framework of the International Book Fair (Filven) 2020.
For the delivery of this award, the research, dissemination and teaching of the emancipating, revolutionary and liberating historical vision were taken into account, reported a press release.
Germán Fleites Núñez, Professor Emilio Árevalo Braasch, Professor Luis Britto García, Professor Pedro Cunill Grau, Professor Alí López, Professor Iraida Vargas and Professor Carlos Viso, who recently passed away, were the ones who received the award this year.
For the president of the National Center of History, Alexander Torres, the seven winners have shown that history is a mechanism for the liberation of people.
Filven 2020 closes this Sunday, November 22, and this week its virtual activities continue, through the website www.filven.com, and face-to-face events at the Casona Cultural Aquiles Nazoa, in Caracas; as well as the new Aníbal Nazoa South Library in Sabana Grande. / AVN
