Shakira will sing in the final of the Copa América 2024

The Colombian diva will offer a show during the first break

Shakira will have a special presentation at the 2024 Copa América final that will be held next Sunday, July 14 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The information was revealed by Alejandro Domínguez, president of Conmebol, who announced the news through social networks.

“The time has come to announce the superstar who is going to be in the unforgettable final of the Copa América. One that believed big and that represents and magnifies Latin American greatness in the world,” Domínguez said in a video published on X.

“Just like our soccer, that day of the final is going to be a party, and there is no one better than Shakira to be with us in this grand final,” he added.

The woman from Barranquilla will be the first to sing during the break of a final in which the champion of the tournament will be defined, a title to which the teams from Argentina, Canada, Uruguay and Colombia aspire.

official anthem

It is worth remembering that last May, the organizers of the Copa América announced that the song 'Puntería', which is part of the singer's new album “Las Mujeres ya no Llorn”, was chosen as the official song of the popular tournament.

The singer expressed her joy after the sports announcement. “The Copa América is the most important football event of the year, and we know that this song will be the sound of summer for fans around the world. It is the power of our culture and our music,” highlighted the Conmebol web portal.

It is not the first time that the interpreter of "Barefoot" performs at sporting events. In 2020, she was part of the lineup for the Super Bowl LIV halftime show alongside Jennifer Lopez. Also, his song 'Waka Waka' ('This Time for Africa') was the official anthem of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

“Women no longer cry World Tour”

Shakira is also preparing for her next tour “Women No Longer Cry World Tour,” which will begin in North America.

“I'm happy to announce the first dates of my 'Women No Longer Cry' world tour, a celebration for my pack,” the singer-songwriter shared in a post on Instagram. “International dates will be announced soon, so stay tuned,” she added.
