Omar Riera will be the first Venezuelan in the "Man of the World"

He will travel to Manila, on June 6, to join the competition along with 39 other leading men.

Omar Riera will travel to the Philippines as a flag bearer for Venezuela in the "Man of the World" contest. The designation took him by surprise, but in record time he packed his bags and traveled to Miami, where he is currently undergoing intense preparation.

Manila will depart on June 6 for the fifth edition of the event that brings together 40 young people from around the world. He is excited to know that it is one of the most prestigious men's contests at the moment. Venezuela will debut together with Mexico, Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago, among others, which is attending for the first time.

"Preparing for the 'Man of the World 2023' is part of a continuous improvement that I have been carrying out for several years," says Riera. He is remembered for participating in Mister Venezuela 2017. "It is the first world event that I attend," says the man who also won medals such as Men Physique 2021 and was a finalist in Mister Supranational Venezuela 2022.

According to Riera, the final gala of the event will take place on June 16. “The agenda starts on the 7th with the official photos. Then there will be some sightseeing, parades, the press show and we will attend various charity events. There will also be an interview with the jury ”, she advances.

Beyond the physical and intellectual aspect, which are essential factors in any competition of this order, Riera agreed to go to the Man of the World because he is interested in the individual aspirations and goals of the contestants. “I have a personal project that I have been kneading for a long time. Specifically oriented to rescue and protect domestic animals in street situations. However, this time I want to spread the need to take care of those human beings who do not have a roof under which to live. Especially, of abandoned children and older adults.

From acting to catwalks

In fact, Omar He is not an unknown face in show business. In fact, beyond his participation in contests or on the catwalk, he first made his way as an actor. “To win the title, my strength is precisely the professional experience achieved in the audiovisual world of television. He also on the tables as an actor in multiple productions and now in the cinema.

Of modeling he says that it has strengthened him "and provided a platform to communicate my good deeds." 

As an actor, he excelled in plays such as "69 Shades of Grey" or the adventure inspired by the Disney animated classic "Hercules." On the small screen he was seen in dramas such as "La dama y el vigilante". At the same time, and as a social communicator and broadcaster, he hosted events in Caracas and various states of the country. “I feel empowered to bring me that title and bring joy to my country. Today I only think about that."

Although the final of the event will not be broadcast on any open-signal TV channel, it can be followed on YouTube on the official account of the contest. “Representing Venezuela is a challenge but also a great opportunity to demonstrate the dedication, perseverance, respect and resilience that define us as Venezuelans. I will use this platform to speak up for those individuals who need to be heard and counted. The international projection that the contest offers me is an opportunity that I will not miss out on”.
