Actor Rodolfo Drago died at 82 years of age

He was confined in the Victorino Santaella after suffering thrombosis in both legs and lung problems

The Argentine actor Rodolfo Drago, who achieved fame in Venezuelan soap operas, died this Monday, June 10, at the age of 82. Drago recently said that he was confined in a hospital after suffering thrombosis in both legs and lung problems.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on May 27, 1942, his first contract with Venevisión was in 1977, after seeing him perform at the Los Cedros theater. It is estimated that he participated in no less than 22 soap operas on the La Colina channel, not counting others on Venezolana de Televisión.

According to the Facebook profile of Famous Artists Remembered, among his most recent projects he did “The Cage of Feathers” on stage, where he played Misterio. On television he was seen in “Corazón esmeralda” (2014) and “Los secretos de Lucía” (2013), as well as “Arroz con leche” (2008). In his last years, away from TV, he remained on the scene teaching acting classes.

The information about his departure was confirmed by fellow actor Henry Soto, who mourned his death. “Dear friend and teacher… RIP,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.

The artist was confined at the Victorino Santaella Hospital, in Los Teques.

Before entering the hospital, the actor who also participated in “A todo corazón”, spent his last years staying in a hotel located in the capital of the state of Miranda.

On a personal level Rodolfo Drago had three children: Anabella, 32 years old, lawyer and classical dancer; Rodolfo Antonio, 28 years old, dentist and musician; and Victoria Eugenia, 25 years old, about to graduate in International Studies; those who live in the United States and Argentina.

His artistic career

Drago developed a career in radio, film and television. In 1992, she participated in “Las Dos Dianas,” a soap opera broadcast by Venevisión. In the drama he played Dr. Ramón Miranda.

In 2000, he stood out in the soap opera “Muñeca de trapo”, playing Luis Felipe Montesinos. The drama was based on the play “La Gata” by Inés Rodena.

Then, in 2006, he was part of the cast of “Ciudad Bendita”, by Leonardo Padrón, in which he played Doctor Graciani, also for the La Colina channel.

In 2008, he was seen in “Torrente”, where he played Yanis Alarcón. In the production she shared a cast with Maritza Bustamante and Luciano D'Alessandro.

In 2009 he acted in “Tomasa I love you”, on Venevisión, as Marlon. There he shared a cast with Carlos Montilla and Nohely Arteaga, among others.
