Venezuelan coffee bean triumphed in Singapore

Venezuela was present at the I Virtual Auction of Singapore Specialties Coffee 2020, more than 10 producers of this category worldwide showed their quality, the Minister for Tourism of Venezuela, Félix Plasencia highlighted that Venezuela is advancing in the promotion policy in the markets international

“This new international record for the Venezuelan coffee bean was an effort of the Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Trade (MITCOEX) with the technical team that accompanied our farmers in the field in this policy of promoting the quality of our coffee in all world showcases "Said Minister Plasencia.

The minister also reported that from MITCOEX and his leadership in the presidency of the Foreign Trade Bank (BANCOEX), the route was built to position our country and the work of coffee growers as a premium product in this event that also had the support of the Venezuelan Embassy in Singapore.

"That our coffee bean is in an auction with the best in the world, is one more example that the commitment of our president Nicolás Maduro is evident, the route to a powerful country," he said.

New international record

The sale was made in favor of the producers of the Venezuelan bean, who managed to sell all the brands above the price estimated by the Singapore Coffee Association, a platform that serves to show the precious green bean in the growing market in Asia.

For Venezuela, Agro Café Aragua participates, which received a tasting score of 81 points, with the variety of grain "Typica"; Cospe Café de la Montaña, with a Tasting score of 75.87 points, also contributing a “Typica” variety grain; and Café del Sur (Torrefactora Guri), with a tasting score of 77.75 points and a bean of the “Arabica” variety. All tasting scores were provided by the Singapore Coffee Association.
