The Argentine justice received this Monday the official report on the circumstances of the death last November of Diego Maradona, produced by an interdisciplinary board that concluded that the legendary ex-footballer was "abandoned to his fate" in the last days of his life.

The report with the conclusions of the expert opinions was delivered to the San Isidro General Prosecutor's Office (northern outskirts of Buenos Aires), which seeks to determine whether the death of the former player, which occurred at age 60 on November 25, 2020, could have occurred due to abandonment of person or manslaughter (involuntary).

Based on the report, the lawyer Mario Braudy, representative of Diego Fernando, Maradona's youngest son, aged 8, will request a change of the title page of the court case.

"We are going to ask that the cover be 'abandonment of person, aggravated in ideal contest with simple homicide with eventual intent'" (when a person cannot ignore the consequences of his actions), declared Braudy at the doors of the prosecution.

The most complicated in the cause are the neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque (39 years old), his last family doctor, and the psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov (35).

In addition, the psychologist Carlos Díaz (29), the nurses Dahiana Madrid (36) and Ricardo Almirón (37), the physician coordinator of home hospitalization, Nancy Forlini (52) and the nurse coordinator, Mariano Perroni (40) are investigated. .

Julio Rivas, lawyer for doctor Luque, rejected the report of the medical board considering it "biased, bad and without scientific grounds" and anticipated that he will present a judicial challenge.

About twenty official and part experts met for the first time on March 8 at the headquarters of the Scientific Police of La Plata (south) and held two weekly virtual meetings to analyze conclusions of the autopsy and complementary studies, clinical histories and thousands of text messages and audios taken from the phones of the accused.

The medical board's report was released last Friday, days before its official presentation.

Four of Maradona's sisters issued a statement criticizing the leak to the press and expressing their "outrage at seeing, once again, our brother's privacy violated."

For Braudy, the objective of the leak is to request the nullity of the document. “But those are chicanas (tricks) of lawyers. The report is so forceful that the world already knows what happened to Diego ”, he warned.

Diego Maradona died on November 25 at the age of 60 in a rented house in a private neighborhood north of Buenos Aires, where he was recovering after an operation for a bruise on his head.
