Since March 2 they have carried out 513 humanitarian actions

Since March 2, the Government of the Russian Federation has sent a total of 4.165 tons of humanitarian cargo to Ukraine, where they have launched a special military operation since February 24.

The head of the Russian National Defence Control Centre, Mikhail Mizintsev, said that his country "delivers humanitarian aid to the liberated regions every day."

"In total, since March 2, 2022, the Russian Federation has already delivered 4.165 tons of humanitarian cargo to Ukraine and carried out 513 humanitarian actions," Mizintsev was quoted as saying by Sputnik.

During the last day, 21 humanitarian actions were carried out in the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, as well as in the kyiv, Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkov, Zaporizhia, Kherson and Mikolaiv regions.

Mízintsev indicated that 366 tons of food, clothing, hygiene products and medicine were delivered to the civilian population.

He noted that since Monday, 32 humanitarian actions have been carried out in the Donbas republics and other areas, including the transport of 200 tons of essential items for the civilian population, as well as baby items and vital medicines.

The Russian special military operation began on February 24 in the Donbas region, after President Vladimir Putin recognized the self-proclaimed republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.

Motivated by the conflict, the United Nations Office for Refugees (Acnur) estimated in ten million the number of people who have had to leave their homes in Ukraine.
