Lula Da Silva and a life marked by the number «9»

Da Silva lost his little finger when he worked as a lathe operator, so he has nine fingers on his hand.

More than 156 million Brazilians are eligible to participate in the elections on October 2, where the new president of the South American nation will be elected; between two options: current president Jair Bolsonaro – who is seeking re-election – and former president Lula Da Silva.

Specifically, there are nine days left for this electoral process, a number that has marked the life of Lula Da Silva.

"9 days left until the Brazil of Hope," Da Silva wrote on his Instagram account.

In the image, the Workers' Party (PT) candidate can be seen marking the number "9" with his hands, stretched out, and it can be seen that his pinky finger is missing, so the president only has nine fingers.

The little finger, details the portal page 12, lost it in an accident when he was a turner.

As if that weren't enough, the number "9" would follow Lula to the alleged corruption cases attributed to him, better known as Lava Jato.

According to The Intercept, the code Lula received from prosecutors in the case was "Nine," which is nine in Spanish.

The nickname cruelly alluded to the lack of Lula's little finger.

It should be remembered that, for this judicial case, Da Silva was arrested, however he was released, after proving his innocence in each of the cases.

At the end of April, the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Committee concluded that the trial against the former Brazilian president was not "impartial" and that all the rights of the former president were violated.

For the UN Committee, the decision of the Supreme Court to release the former president, in 2021, is not enough to be able to compensate for the violations of the right to a fair trial.
