Belarus denounces missile launch from Ukraine

Alexandr Lukashenko assured that for the moment his nation will not respond to provocations

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, denounced that Ukraine has launched several Tochka-U tactical missiles against Belarusian territory.

The president said that since last week, "at least two missiles were launched towards Belarusian territory. Fortunately, we managed to shoot them down."

In this sense, the Belarusian president declared that the purpose is to provoke his nation, adding that for the moment they will not respond, but if they do, it will be decent.

In an interview, Lukashenko confirmed that his country remains on the sidelines of the special military operation undertaken by Russia in Ukraine.

The president reaffirmed that there are no Belarusian troops on Ukrainian territory, and stressed that the West will not be able to bring Belarus into the conflict.

Despite the position of the Belarusian government, the United States (USA) and countries of the European Union imposed sanctions against the country for considering it part of the special Russian military operation in defense of Donbas.

At the time, Lukashenko said that it was planned that "they would not only attack Donbas, but had also prepared their positions for an attack on Belarus."

After the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine, on February 24, Moscow has denounced the presence of US-funded biological weapons development laboratories, among other findings.
