In the Ipure Land of Legends Commune, in the state of Monagas, the Communal Agro-Food Plan is progressing, an initiative aimed at strengthening the cultivation of legumes through technical support, the optimization of inputs and coordinated work with producers.
As part of this strategy, the People's Power joins forces with the farmers to improve the yield and health of the crops, through technical guidance and the application of appropriate practices for fertilizer management.
"Through technical support, the optimization of inputs, and coordinated work with producers, the People's Power joins forces with farmers to improve crop yield and health with technical guidance and proper fertilizer management, promote communal collection centers, allowing several communes to deliver harvests at fair prices and take production directly to large cities," states the Ministry of People's Power for Communes in its Telegram channel.
The publication is accompanied by audiovisual material with testimonies from different producers in the state of Monagas, who highlight the Communal Agro-Food Plan, with the promotion of communal collection centers, which allow several communes to consolidate their harvests, establish marketing mechanisms at fair prices and take the production directly to the main urban centers.
"We need to support the producers, send commissions, and help them get their products to the big cities. We need to create a collection center where products from, for example, the three districts could be brought together to form a single group, to offer everything at a single price, at a single level, so that everyone benefits," one of the producers stated in the video.
Similarly, technical support has allowed the incorporation of new practices for crop management and the efficient use of inputs, with favorable results reported by the producers themselves.
The Community Agri-food Plan also promotes co-responsibility among members of productive communities, as a fundamental element to guarantee the continuity and sustainability of planting cycle after cycle.
The producers appreciated the support received and the attention given to the needs of the farming sector.
"Thank God this government has finally realized that farmers need a change of job," they say.
