Through the Caracas Train Project of the Transport Mission, 22 trains from the Caracas Metro system will be recovered in order to improve service for the Venezuelan people.
During a day of the Transport Mission with the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the Mission authorities, it was learned that the system will be recovered with a new image.
The Deputy Minister for Transport, Claudio Farías, reported that work is currently being done to improve the Metro railway system. "We are activating mechanisms that do not allow the theft of the material contained in the railway tracks that have been attempted to be sabotaged on different occasions," he said.
He added that special attention will be paid to the preferential service offered by the system. "We must improve the preferential service seats, to provide a better service to the elderly," he said.
The vice minister added that 1.600 fuses have been created with this plan, which represents a saving of almost 100%, as well as rubbers for the couplers of the trains, other savings in foreign currency and that the conditions of the trains such as air conditioning, engines will also be improved new and wheels.
He noted that they have replaced the copper cables with other aluminum, adding that the working class of the Metro is developing the "shoe", a unit that allows synchronization with the third rail and guarantee the energy of the train.
President Maduro thanked the work being done by the working class of the Caracas Metro and explained that this Monday he gave the order to open the Caracas Metro and other underground systems to guarantee the transfer of workers from priority sectors.
