This Wednesday, the National Congress of Pediatrics 2023, organized by the Ministry of Popular Power for Health, began in the Venezuela Hall of the Military Circle of Caracas.
The event, which will take place over two days, will bring together specialists from all over the country willing to expand their knowledge and be at the forefront of health and comprehensive care for children.
The Vice Minister of Social Prevention, Dr. Rafael Ríos, highlighted the importance of these spaces dealing with issues related to children's health and advancing in the processes of medical updating.
Likewise, the sector vice president of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, welcomed this initiative of the Bolivarian Government to advance in the development of the national public health system.
"More than a thousand teachers, academics, medical residents, heads of services, hospital directors and pediatricians are taking part in the event to discuss public care policies for the population," he said.
He stressed that one of the most important issues to be addressed was childhood obesity.
"Paediatricians, together with families, are key players in the healthy growth of children and young people, ensuring their comprehensive development from childhood to adulthood," he added.
Jiménez explained that this Congress is to promote knowledge, practices and updating of pediatric medical experiences that allow us to strengthen the Public Health System.
"We congratulate all the participants, students, residents, physicians, lecturers, and directors of the Pediatrics departments who contribute with their dedication and professionalism to this important event."
