The Ministry of Popular Power for Transportation managed to restore more than 50% of the operational capacity of the "Simón Bolívar" International Airport in Maiquetía in just 35 days, through the enabling and installation of temporary terminals, as reported by the Minister of the portfolio, Francisco Garcés.
“Thanks to the combined efforts of our national technical teams and specialized international support, we were able to restore more than 50% of the operational capacity in Maiquetía in just 35 days with the commissioning of these temporary terminals,” Garcés stated during a radio interview.
He also highlighted the recovery of the country's port infrastructure, assuring that the flow of goods remains steady.
“We can confirm that 100% of the cargo cranes are fully operational at the port of La Guaira. Furthermore, we have strategically redistributed some of our logistics operations to Puerto Cabello, which allows us to ensure and safeguard the commercial activity of the entire nation,” the minister stated.
He assured that these recovery efforts will continue until the airport facilities are fully rehabilitated.
