The "Simón Bolívar" International Airport of Maiquetía (IAIM), in the state of La Guaira, issued a series of recommendations this Monday to users of the temporary terminals that begin operations this Tuesday, September 1.
Through its Instagram account, the IAIM reported that passengers must arrive two hours in advance for domestic flights and three hours in advance for international flights, while also recommending that they check in online beforehand with airlines that offer this service.
To access domestic and international flights, they recommend unloading vehicles at the lower part of the airport and going up the ramp to the terminals, where "only people who are going to travel are allowed to enter."
Regarding baggage, the airport authority emphasized that there are no changes to the policies or permitted dimensions of the baggage.
“Access for passengers with special assistance needs is fully guaranteed, including those with reduced mobility or the elderly,” IAIM reported.
Also, to find out if the flight will depart from Maiquetía Airport, passengers are urged to confirm their travel itinerary directly with the airline or travel agency.
Parking will be available on the upper level (traditional international terminal) next to the Gran Cacique Hotel. A walkway will also be available between terminals for passengers in transit to domestic or international destinations.
Maiquetía Airport will have a VIP lounge, access to which will be paid and managed by the airport.

The Minister of Popular Power for Transportation, Francisco Garcés, reported that the runway of the air terminal was promptly recovered by Venezuelan professionals, and that it will have a capacity to serve 720 departing passengers and 496 arriving passengers in the international area, as well as 480 departing passengers and 472 arriving passengers in the domestic area.
