Maduro: This is the time for Venezuela's rebirth

"God's trials have made us better people and a better country," the president said in his Christmas message to the people.

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, and the First Lady, Cilia Flores, delivered an emotional Christmas message to the nation, celebrating unity, peace, and faith in a better future for Venezuela.

The First Lady highlighted the fraternity of the Venezuelan people, their joy and resilience, and emphasized that "in life, good will always triumph and prevail. Venezuela, united, is preparing to receive the Child Jesus, amidst songs and prayers, from this, the land of possibility," she expressed in the company of children.

The president urged Venezuelans to feel proud of living in this time "full of challenges and new possibilities, because this is the time of Venezuela's rebirth. God's trials have made us better people and have made us a better country," he said, very moved in his Christmas message to the people.

The following is the full text of his message:

ciliaChristmas fills our hearts with the joy of these children. Today, celebrating with this community, here on this street, with every family, we give the world a message of love and brotherhood.

"In life, good will always triumph, good will always prevail. Venezuela, united, prepares to receive the Child Jesus, amidst songs and prayers, from the earth, this, the land of possibility."

MaduroIn this land, in these streets, which were our school, our university. Here we were forged among the corridors, there alongside the people, amidst the drums of Mandinga, of Ricardo, and of the Madera group, who raised their voices of rebellion and their songs forever. This is the land of saints, of wise men, of valiant patriots, like José Gregorio Hernández, like Saint Carmen Rendiles, and like the neighbors of every district, of every community, who now write and sing their own song. Because now they truly have a voice, their conscience, their dignity, and because ultimately we have been endowed by God with a good and victorious soul. Therefore, listening to this melody is a blessing that life offers us, a voice full of truth and optimism, like the child, like the child born today under the star of Bethlehem, who says that the song is our people. Cilita, let us feel proud to live in this time full of challenges and new possibilities, because this is the time of Venezuela's rebirth. God is always by our side, always a witness that His trials have always made us better people, have made us all a better country. That's how I feel, that's how I believe, and that's how it has been decreed by heaven, forever and ever.

Cilia: "I believe it too, and do you know why I believe it? Because I see it in the eyes of young men, girls, children, in the eyes of every woman, every man, our grandfathers and grandmothers, in every family, our family that remains united as a powerful sign of peace."

Ripe: And peace, as our great liberator Simón Bolívar said, peace will be our harbor, our destiny, and our glory. Behind that sacred mountain of Guareira Repano, formerly known as Ávila, lies the sea where our ancestors stood sentinel, where Miranda and Bolívar sailed to found an entire continent. A zone of peace throughout Venezuela, of free men and women. The peace of the free, of the dignified, as Caribbean people.
We want to celebrate you here, fellow countryman, who works from January to January, because 2025 has been the first year of a new, virtuous era of achievements and great transformations. We wholeheartedly wish, and I place God first, that tonight and this Christmas our Lord Jesus Christ knocks on your door, that you open it, and that you receive His eternal blessings.
And we say to you from here, from the neighborhoods of Caracas, happy, long live life.
