The president of the Great Mission Venezuela Reborn, Jacqueline Faría, held a meeting this Tuesday with the governor of Miranda state, Elio Serrano, and the work teams to evaluate the progress of the recovery works of the homes affected by the earthquakes of June 24.
"Today we met with the governor of Miranda, Elio Serrano; the mayor of Guarenas, Antonio Galíndez; and the work teams to evaluate the works being carried out within the framework of the Venezuela Renace Plan," he reported through his social media accounts.
Later, Faría explained that during the meeting they discussed the work and projects being carried out in Guarenas through the Venezuela Renace Plan "for the recovery of homes affected by earthquakes."
"We are continuing to provide support to families in the state of Miranda, with concrete actions to rehabilitate their homes and guarantee them dignified spaces to live in," he asserted.
As explained, the aforementioned body implements a hybrid intervention strategy that includes the incorporation of reinforced concrete shear walls founded on piles, guaranteeing the structural rigidity of the affected buildings.
Likewise, the restoration work includes the confinement of columns and beams using carbon fiber in order to provide ductility under gravitational loads, as well as the control of lateral effects to neutralize deformations from previous construction collapse and ensure decent living spaces.
