People from Lara gather in defense of national sovereignty

Amphictyonic Congress organized in the communes

A hundred spokespeople from the communes of Lara state (Barquisimeto) concluded in the territorial formation of peace diplomacy, the maintenance of national sovereignty and communal union for economic, social, historical and cultural development, within the framework of the installation of the Amphictyonic Communal State Congress, this Friday, August 28, 2026.

They also defined the Venezuelan revolutionary process as belonging to and under the jurisdiction of the people, who have built a horizontal system of territorial existence based on the principles of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (CRBV) and the legacy of unity, justice, and peace fostered at the Amphictyonic Congress of Panama by Simón Bolívar 200 years ago. In their final proclamation, they reaffirmed their demand for the release of President-elect Nicolás Maduro, who has been a prisoner of war since January 3, 2026.

They expressed their commitment to extend similar activities to the communes distributed throughout each of the 9 municipalities of Lara, including Simón Planas, Iribarren, Andrés Eloy Blanco, Crespo and Morán, whose mayors Elvis Silva, Yanys Agüero, Wilmer Granadillo, Julio Garcés and Rafael Anzola, respectively, participated in what became an anti-imperialist and insurgent forum.

Cristian Ortiz, liaison of the Simón Bolívar Institute in the state of Lara and Portuguesa (Guanare), motivated the creation of the Training Centers in the Bolivarian doctrine with the purpose of strengthening the culture of the people and their historical roots linked to the libertarian struggles.

The meeting was sponsored by the governor of Lara state, Luis Reyes Reyes, who also convened members of the Political Council, Social Movements, parties of the Great Patriotic Pole and the Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in Lara, in addition to the Network of History, Memory and Heritage and the Simón Bolívar Institute (Caracas), deputies, councilors and councilwomen from the different localities.
