Technical assistance is being deployed for 1.461 production units in Cojedes

So far this month, institutional teams have approached 80 production units for socio-productive characterization in two farms in the Zamora municipality of Tinaco

A total of 1.461 production units in the state of Cojedes will be addressed by teams from the Ministry of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements (Minppms), together with the Ciara Foundation, for technical support, socio-productive characterization and agronomic strengthening for the agricultural sector of the region.

The approach seeks to delve deeper into the productive development plan in this plains entity, and so far this month, the institutional teams have attended to 80 production units in the Zamoran farms General “José Laurencio Silva” and “Indígenas de Guanmontey”, both located in the “El Último Hombre a Caballo” Commune in the municipality of Tinaco, scenarios where the technical team evaluates the status of the projects and provides tools to enhance the productive chain from the peasant bases.

The main components of this deployment include field inspections and diagnostics of the land, evaluating water sources, agricultural access roads, and soil conditions. They also provide support and advice on planting techniques, integrated pest management, efficient fertilization, and optimizing short-cycle crops and cereals.

Another key aspect is the regulation and registration of cooperatives, including the collection of geopolitical data and a production inventory for systematization and integration into state distribution and financing plans. The final aspect is the identification of critical requirements for seeds, biocontrol agents, and agrochemicals to guarantee the yield of the cultivated hectares.

Assessment of the technical approach

During the first field visits to the 80 production units, the technical commissions noted a high diversification in the livestock and agricultural areas, with significant progress in the breeding and management of pigs, consolidation of bovine and ovine systems, along with the sustained boost in the breeding of broiler chickens for local consumption.

Regarding the plant component, they have verified a great advance in small farms dedicated to the cultivation of musaceae (banana and topocho), cereals, fruit trees, in addition to harvests of vegetables, roots and tubers essential for the community diet.

These technical and social workshops reaffirm the commitment of state institutions to strengthening the national productive apparatus, guaranteeing direct support to the community members of Cojedes state.
