A state-of-the-art ophthalmic microscope was incorporated into the Tinaco Hospital in Cojedes state, which will allow for surgical intervention on more than 1.000 patients diagnosed with cataracts during the month of September.
The multidisciplinary teams working at the health center will carry out an intensive day of surgeries to provide timely response to the people previously selected and evaluated in the region.
The sole health authority, Dr. Manuel Rodríguez, reported that this high-precision instrument is designed to project the internal and external structures of the human eye with maximum detail and high contrast, and that its incorporation into the hospital network guarantees greater accuracy, safety and effectiveness during surgical procedures, optimizing medical practice and reducing recovery times for operated patients.
He noted that with the receipt of this specialized tool, an assistance deployment begins aimed at restoring visual health and significantly improving the quality of life of more than a thousand families in the Cojedes territory.
