La Guaira continues to make progress in territorial and urban reorganization following the double earthquake that struck the state. With the simultaneous implosion of towers A and B of the Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi housing complex in Playa Grande (Urimare parish), the number of buildings demolished through seven controlled implosion operations in the state has risen to eight.
The most recent intervention was carried out this Saturday under the supervision of the sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, who highlighted the technical nature of the maneuver, as it involved two structures being taken down in the same operation, with detonations programmed seconds apart.
The demolition of towers A and B completes the dismantling of the three blocks of the Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi urban development, after tower C was previously demolished in the same area.
With this action, the tally of demolished buildings also includes towers I and II of the Samantha residential complex, also located in Playa Grande, as well as the Newport, San Jorge and Arrecife residences, in Tanaguarena (Caraballeda parish).
During the day, Cabello explained that each procedure is the result of technical planning that involves specialized agencies, neighbors and property owners, with the purpose of ensuring that the structures collapse within a controlled perimeter and without affecting nearby buildings.

He also indicated that after each implosion, the phase of debris removal, inspection of areas of interest for search and the progressive recovery of the spaces begins.
The operation carried out this Saturday adds to another implosion carried out on Friday, in a week of accelerating risk mitigation work in the most affected areas.
Authorities specified that 35 buildings listed as being at high risk of collapse are included in the first stage of the controlled demolition plan in the coastal region.
