La Guaira is making progress in the recovery of 119 schools for the return to classes

The works are more than 65% complete

La Guaira is accelerating the rehabilitation work on 119 educational establishments affected after the earthquakes of June 24, with the aim of guaranteeing the return to classes on the dates planned by the Ministry of Education.

This was reported by Governor José Alejandro Terán, who highlighted that the works carried out by the Community and Military Brigades (Bricomiles) are currently more than 65% complete, while the goal is to reach 80% during this same week to enter the final phase of adjustments.

The regional leader specified that next week will be dedicated to the final work to leave the institutions in optimal condition for the new academic period, amidst the recovery process that the entity is going through after the seismic emergency.

Terán emphasized that the effort not only includes the physical recovery of schools, but also social support for families, especially those impacted by the emergency.

“As always in La Guaira, the national government has guaranteed the provision of school supplies, uniforms and much more, especially in these circumstances we are experiencing after the earthquakes of June 24,” he stated.

School fairs will accompany the start of the academic year

As part of the preparations for the return to classrooms, the governor announced the continuation of school fairs incorporated into the comprehensive social care days that are being carried out in different parts of the state.

"This Saturday, a new event will be held in the parking lot of the José María Vargas Sports Center, in the Carlos Soublette parish, where families can access products and services related to the start of the school year."
