The actor Jason Momoa could stop being Aquaman and will be the Wolf in James Gunn's DC. According to an article in The Hollywood Reporter, it is a fact that the days of the renowned actor playing Aquaman could have ended after the popular saga of "Aquaman" and “The Lost Kingdom,” the solo sequel due out next year.
"The actor would end his days as the underwater hero Arthur Curry with Lost City, which will be released on December 25, 2023, which would be the last film released by the previous regime, but it would not mean the end of the actor's relationship with DC," reads the publication of the specialized film portal.
Directors James Gunn and Peter Safran want Momoa to become the first actor to play Lobo in a live-action fiction.
Who is the Wolf?
The character is an outsider, an anti-hero, and stays in line with Gunn's specialty of taking the offbeat and wacky and turning it into something crowd-pleasing.
This is a character created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, who is an alien born on a planet called Czarnia with whom this actor was linked to in networks some time ago.
The Wolf appeared for the first time in the third issue of Omega Men in 1983. He is an alien and is the last survivor of that world, since he took the lives of all its inhabitants due to his cruel and criminal nature.
Many complained that Momoa was not the most appropriate person to play the underwater hero in his first live-action due to his physical resemblance, but he was the ideal one for the same reason to get into the skin of the Wolf. Yes, contradictory comments but they stood out on social networks.
Whatever happens with Jason's future, everything seems to indicate that "Aquaman" will conclude his adventures in the DC Extended Universe with his second film. This leaves Henry Cavill's "Superman" with the biggest mystery in its history, following the latest news that the "Justice League" as we've known it since 2017 could be coming to an end.
