Health Caravan on its way to serving 30.000 people in Guárico

During its first phase, the program deployed 16 medical campaigns across the 15 municipalities of the state

Nearly 30.000 people in Guárico state have been served during the first phase of the Health Caravan, a regional initiative that, to date, includes 16 medical days deployed in the 15 municipalities of the state to guarantee direct assistance to the communities.

The announcement was made by Governor Donald Donaire from the Regional Health Directorate headquarters, where he highlighted that the services are being provided through mobile clinics that have been refurbished and equipped by the governor's office. He emphasized that the healthcare deployment offers comprehensive care in internal medicine, dermatology, pediatrics, ultrasound, dentistry, gynecology, and optometry, among other specialties.

He specified that, to date, 23.809 consultations, 1.573 ultrasounds, 1.140 X-ray studies, 1.316 dental services including evaluations and procedures have been recorded, in addition to the delivery of 2.700 pairs of glasses and more than 50.000 medications.

Donaire emphasized that these operations are a result of collaboration with community organizations through the Health Committees. "They organize the events and conduct the censuses; we are responsible for providing support and the institutional response," he explained.

He added that the program serves senior citizens, women, and children. For the latter, the El Niño Foundation organizes recreational activities such as face painting, games, inflatables, and toy distribution. "These aren't photo ops; they are operations aimed at addressing the real needs of the people, with outreach efforts that extend late into the night," he emphasized.
