The pediatric ward of the Dr. Francisco Urdaneta Delgado Hospital in Calabozo (Guárico) was completely rehabilitated and delivered as new, now offering dignified and optimized spaces for the hospitalization of more than 20 children.
During the reopening of the hospital's second floor, Governor Donald Donaire, Mayor Alfreína Álvarez, and the hospital's director, Dr. Pedro Laya, emphasized that the project reflects the coordinated work between the three levels of government to guarantee comprehensive and quality medical care for children.
The renovation of the space included the adaptation of sanitary fixtures, replacement of doors, application of general painting, installation of LED lighting, air conditioning of all areas and other work.
The regional leader specified that these works will be complemented in the coming days with the provision of high-tech equipment for the pediatric emergency, including state-of-the-art X-ray machines and ultrasound scanners, which will allow for more accurate and timely diagnoses directly at the healthcare center.
In addition, he announced that the next phase of recovery will focus on the fourth floor of the hospital, corresponding to the surgery area, where the total remodeling will begin to continue improving the care of the Public Health System.
Among other things, Donaire emphasized that health is a priority in his administration, detailing that the waterproofing of the roof of the El Sombrero hospital is currently underway, along with various works at the Tucupido hospital, as well as the restoration of the Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI) in Zaraza, Ortiz, and El Socorro.
"For us, health is a priority, and we will continue working tirelessly to provide the best response and a dignified service to all the people of Guárico," the governor of the plains region asserted.
