After a complete transformation, the Paseo Zulia in San Juan de los Morros, Guárico state, was reopened, benefiting more than 2.000 families from 10 communities with a new space dedicated to meeting and recreation.
The initiative seeks to strengthen social integration and guarantee safe and suitable environments for the recreational development of children and adults.
"The Paseo Zulia was one of the darkest and most deteriorated spots in the city, with very little exercise equipment," said Mayor Katherine Guanipa, adding that the project included the installation of a children's park, bio-healthy equipment, a mini sports court, general painting, and state-of-the-art lighting.
He explained that the delivery is part of a municipal plan to recover and beautify squares, boulevards and sports spaces, and announced that in the coming days the rehabilitated Los Samanes square, one of the most emblematic points in the center of the plains capital, will be reopened.
Guanipa emphasized that these interventions are complemented by roadworks and optimization of public services to raise the quality of life in popular sectors.
On the other hand, community leaders recalled that the project addresses a demand that had been neglected by previous administrations, and therefore thanked the municipal government and called on residents to preserve the facilities in optimal condition.
