From the early hours of this Friday, the Monumental Simón Bolívar stadium in Caracas was filled with the different groups of different popular cultures, coming from all over the country, who began to participate and witness the Viva Venezuela World Festival.
The Mirandino joropo beat got those present tapping their feet to the contagious rhythm of their maracas and the dancers' "jumping" to the beat of the group "Un, dos, tres y fuera" from Guatire, which motivated President Maduro to take a pair of maracas and start singing.
The dance of La Llora, from the state of Aragua, made those present hum its melodies
Madamas, mediopintos, San Juaneros and the various brotherhoods of the dancing devils and more than 10.000 drums by José Leonardo Chirinos, welcomed the delegations of international artists invited to participate in the festival, a welcome that was led by the Minister for Culture , Ernesto Villegas.
Villegas commented that the occasion was propitious because today, March 10, Afro-Venezuela Day and Plastic Artist Day are celebrated.
Melodies that internationalized our music such as Caballo Viejo and Moliendo Café sounded at the Monumental, where the famous song "a cuerpo cobarde" by Gualberto Ibarreto, was hummed by those present.
The climax of the show was reached when the sky lit up with a drone show carried out with the participation of the People's Republic of China.
Villegas reported that the drones used in the presentation will be distributed in the great Mission Viva Venezuela in favor of the development of culture.
The Locos and Locainas paraded along the stage with their colorful frayed costumes, a typical tradition that is carried out to commemorate April Fool's Day on December 28 of each year.
San Benito Palermo, was danced and presented by the brotherhood of Betijoque, Trujillo state, who waved their white flags in honor of the black Saint. Likewise, the San Pedreños de Guatire presented the saint with their quotes and hats characteristic of this tradition.
“Culture shining in all the towns, in all the neighborhoods, in all the squares of Venezuela (…) Long live the creative powers of the people. Long live the country. Long live Venezuela. Long live the culture, the cultists,” said the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro, during his greeting to those present, who also ratified that the festival will be deployed throughout the country until next May 19.
