Sidewalks and curbs | The other Caracas

-In the Museum of Architecture (Musarq), on av. Bolívar de Caracas, an exhibition on the comprehensive and regional vision of the cities subsystem of the Valles del Tuy was inaugurated on Thursday, October 24, 2019.

-The Bolivarian government of that entity, commissioned the International Laboratory for Popular Habitat (French), to diagnose and formulate strategic lines for systemic and communal development in one of the subregions of Greater Caracas. The advances of that study constitute the referred exposition.

- Remarkable that a state government undertakes the management of its territorial scope with that general vision. And even more so of one of the essential areas of Caracas, understood as a region of some 27 municipalities in the states of Miranda, La Guaira, Aragua and the Capital District.

-It is a significant step that must be extended to the Altos Mirandinos, the Guarenas-Guatire Valley, the Barlovento region and the Caracas municipalities.

-And then, put together this "puzzle" of subregions, to conceive, plan and manage the capital, under the parameters that its complex evolution requires.

-We hope that this study will provide feedback and generate socio-territorial impacts, through pilot projects that can be executed in the immediate term. As well as the communal power appropriates its development from its beginnings.

-Congratulations on this extraordinary example of regional management and we hope that the three months that the exhibition will last, the Musarq will be a space for constructive debate on this experience, with the Tuyera communities and the mayoralties as its protagonists.

Hatillo revolutionizes urban planning!

Its authorities and advisers approved and defend that the town's Bolívar square is impossible to walk around. They removed the west sidewalk! They interrupted the circuit to skirt it.

We are surprised how our brainy architects, urban planners, heritage experts and other specimens of Venezuelan intellectual fauna have studied so much and traveled the world, and none of them came up with such a simple innovation.
We invite professors and students from the faculties of architecture and urban planning, historians and urban heritage entities, to take a walk there and learn about what will surely transform forever the ancient approaches to urban renewal in our cities and towns. .

Just one question: Who is this original decision for? It will soon be seen by those who will benefit from the inability to walk along the side of the square.
