PSUV demands investigation for connection of the right with drug trafficking

The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) demanded on Monday a judicial investigation of the Venezuelan right for its connection with drug trafficking, after the arrest of one of the opposition financiers in Colombia.

"Mr. Guaidó was recorded on video, very cheerful with several leaders. A major judicial investigation should be opened. The world knows that the US persecution has been without any evidence, but here there is evidence of opposition members involved in drug trafficking," said Diosdado Cabello, First Vice President of the PSUV.

At a press conference, Cabello rejected that the right seeks to disassociate itself from the complaints that have been made about its links against drug trafficking when there is clear evidence.

"The opposition has no scruples of any kind," he stressed.

Recently, the president of the National Assembly and socialist leader, Jorge Rodríguez, revealed some photographs of Biagio Garófalo, detained in Cartagena and with links to the right.

In the photographs, Garófalo appears with Julio Montoya, Henrique Capriles, Marco Aurelio Quiñonez (Guaidó's right-hand man), as well as with Juan Guaidó.

National Asset Control Office

During the press conference, the first vice president of the PSUV reiterated the request to create a National Asset Control Office, in order to stop corruption, which can be generated with representatives of the right as well as on the side of the Revolution.

"We have proposed the creation of a national office that would allow for the evaluation of everyone's assets. Not just for the opposition, but for everyone. How is it that the banks are bankrupt and the bankers are millionaires?" the Socialist leader emphasized.

It is not the first time that the socialist leader requests the creation of a national asset control office.

On your show With the Giving Deck, The socialist leader pointed out that the country must have a financial control body similar to the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to impose sanctions on all people, and in particular on politicians from the extremist opposition sector, for money obtained for drug trafficking and money laundering.
