President Maduro increases the minimum comprehensive income to $160

With this measure, the president responded to the right-wing actions to attack workers' wages.

President Nicolás Maduro announced that, starting May 1, the minimum wage for Venezuelan workers will be $160, indexed to that currency to prevent a drop in workers' wages.

The economic war income will increase from $90 to $120, which, added to the $40 food stamp, will bring the total income to $160 per month, while pensions will increase to $50. The Head of State also confirmed that the indexation will continue to apply to the minimum income of workers, pensioners, and the single bonus.

A Unified Bonus for the protection of working families will also be created, covering 5 million families and taking effect on May 1.

"Two years ago, I implemented indexation. Since then, we've increased the minimum comprehensive income by 135%," he emphasized.

The president stated that this announcement is being made within the framework of the recently approved economic war decree to protect families and the public in general from the desperate attacks of the extreme right, which is pushing for economic destabilization and continues to call for sanctions against the country.

Furthermore, they seek to "counteract the impact of sanctions and recover the income that imperialism tried to snatch from the working class."

"We are going to contain the attack on the currency; be patient, we will defeat it... It is the only weapon left to this criminal, and we are going to defeat it," he said, referring to the actions promoted by extremist leader María Corina Machado.

On the other hand, the president announced that he will increase support for entrepreneurship, "because it makes good money, creates jobs, and allows entrepreneurs to pay a little more."

"Today, through the Credinómina program, we are releasing 10 loans for Venezuelan working-class businesses," he emphasized.

"We are making significant progress despite the economic war, and we continue to strengthen the country to guarantee the well-being of the Venezuelan people," he reflected.

  1. Good day, I pay social security, I earn 130 bolivars and I am waiting to retire due to health reasons, I am 53 years old and cannot work

  2. It's essential to monitor protein levels, as some butcher shops are charging over $12 for the cheapest cut, even though the average over the past 10 years has always been between $9 and $8.
The fact that we are paying more Bs per dollar every day does not justify or provide any reason to continue increasing the proteins that are essential in the Venezuelan diet.

SUNDE What is happening with MEAT products

  3. We will continue forward with our President Nicolás Maduro. Happy Labor Day, Mr. President. We will always live and win, President.

  4. THEY MUST ENSURE THAT THIS INDEXATION IS TRULY COMPLIED WITH, BECAUSE I AM A PUBLIC EMPLOYEE AND THEY SEND THE PAYROLL TO THE BANK 5 DAYS IN ADVANCE, SO WHEN THE FORTNIGHT PAY IS PAID, THE DOLLAR IS ALREADY RISING FOR 5 CONSECUTIVE DAYS AND DEVALUES THE SALARY.

  5. These measures are fine, but the dollar must be removed from the country and the prices must be set so that prices are not speculated on. Long live Chávez and the revolution.

  6. I agree with these measures to manage this economic turbulence in our country... greetings from Barcelona, Anzoátegui State, Venezuela.

  7. I think it's very good; we're grateful for this gesture from the president. We'll see how this salary compares to actual purchases. We know from experience that these increases end up in the pockets of merchants, so it's necessary to implement other measures to ensure that it doesn't become a "consumptive's joy." Best regards.

  8. Good morning, there's no mention of civil service retirees who don't receive a food stamp and whose war bonus was $91.

  9. Good morning, no mention was made of civil service retirees who do not receive a food stamp and whose war bonus was $91.

  10. The only drawback of the proposal is continuing to index the full salary and other economic benefits to the dollar. The most effective and efficient approach is to index all salary benefits and the Tax Unit monthly to the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) published by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV), to avoid the loss of monetary purchasing power. This way, employers will be the ones who decide the salary and taxes payable month by month.

  11. VERY WELL, I ACCEPT EVERYTHING AS IS, NO MORE TALK. LONG LIVE MY PRESIDENT NICOLAS MADURO, DAMN IT, IN OUR COUNTRY WE HAVE TO FIGHT MAINLY FOR EVERYDAY FOOD, SINCE PRICES HAVE EXTREMELY INCREASED, AND HEALTH MEDICINES AND AGRICULTURE 🚜 EVERYTHING IS TOO EXPENSIVE.

  12. What I request and require is that the state update my social security contributions. I am owed more than 230 contributions, which prevents me from accessing my IVSS pension.

  13. While it may not fully cover the needs, it is nevertheless a step forward, despite the sanctions and escalating tariffs imposed by the cruelest and most criminal empire humanity has ever known on Earth. We are in residence and moving forward with great sacrifices. WE WILL WIN.

  14. Why aren't war bonuses and cestaticks paid to public administration employees at the BCV rate as close to the payment date as possible, and not with such a wide gap—that is, with so many days' difference, causing a substantial financial loss for the beneficiary? Could you please explain this?

  15. How will they differentiate pension payments? How will they apply them? If it's starting tomorrow, May 1st, then a month's retroactive payment is due. Will it be the same for everyone? IVSS and Amor Mayor?

  16. We know that the situation is critical but we leave everything in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ almighty that his will be done

  17. I say with great respect to retirees, they don't give us food vouchers like they do to active people, we seniors continue to suffer.
