The Mérida Governor's Office announced the export of more than 40 tons of coffee produced in the Southern Pueblos region, with 19,2 tons going to Serbia and 23 tons to Belarus.
The state's governor, Arnaldo Sánchez, explained through his Instagram account @arnaldosanchezp that the shipment was made from the port of La Guaira to these allied countries.
Diplomatic representatives from both nations in Venezuela were present during the shipment, highlighting the dedicated work of Mérida women in selecting the grain, which guarantees the internationally required standards of excellence.
In this regard, the representative of the area's coffee producers explained that the coffee goes through four processes: three mechanized and one manual, the latter carried out by 4 women—a key process that adds value to the production chain by selecting the best coffee beans. "We are in the process of establishing a cooperative with them," he added.
The regional leader emphasized that new exports to Japan and Germany are already planned, stating: "This is a source of national pride and proof that Mérida never stops. We continue to work tirelessly, opening up to foreign trade and strengthening international ties."
