Neomar García and Nubia Perdomo are members of the Padre Jesús commune that lives in the Unión de Petare neighborhood, in the Sucre municipality (Mir), an area that is one of the most affected by coronavirus infections.
On behalf of the community, they received from the mayor, José Vicente Rangel Ávalos, the teams for the formation of the Community prevention brigade against covid-19.
Disinfection equipment, posters, megaphones, biosafety panties, gloves, glasses, flannels, sprinklers, face masks, are part of the articles for the formation of the brigade, which already number more than 200 throughout the jurisdiction.
García and Perdomo indicated that, since the start of the pandemic, with the support of the municipal authorities, they have carried out a awareness campaign among their neighbors, making known the main health regulations that must be met, such as washing of hands, the use of the mask, respect of social distance and compliance with quarantine.
"But unfortunately, after four months of health emergency for the covid-19, even in our community there are people who do not use the masks correctly, they promote parties and crowds of people. We are especially concerned about the safety of children and older adults, we hope that in our neighborhood they become more aware of the situation we are going through, "said Neomar García.

The mayor of the Sucre municipality, José Vicente Rangel Ávalos, reported that according to reports made by the Municipal Situation Room for the Care and Prevention of covid-19, until July 30, more than 400 cases had been reported throughout the jurisdiction , being the Petare parish, which continues to concentrate the largest number of infected people.
He indicated that in the sectors La Cruz, upper and lower part, and Fila Maestra, in the Unión neighborhood, 42 infected people were detected, making this sector one of the most important centers of the municipality.
"The second focus of importance is located in zones 5 and 6 of the José Félix Ribas neighborhood, where 25 positive cases were detected, followed by the 12 de Octubre neighborhood where 16 cases were reported and the La Agricultura neighborhood with 12 positive cases of covid-19 ”, said Rangel Ávalos.
He noted that, following health protocols, patients are cared for in the sentinel hospitals Domingo Luciani and Pérez de León II, as well as other health centers.
"In areas where a rebound in cases has been observed, it is also the places where the largest number of street parties and liquor consumption have been reported, so we have increased security operations, resulting in retention of some 2000 people who have been transferred to the Polisucre headquarters to receive a four-hour talk about the risks of covid-19, "said Rangel Ávalos.
