The Regional Indigenous Council of Huila continues today in a permanent minga to strengthen the national strike that began last April 28 against the policies of the government of President Iván Duque, indicates Prensa Latina.
The organization emphasized that the current context concerns the indigenous peoples of the Huila department, and as a gesture of brotherhood and solidarity with the Colombian people, it demands that the government not collect the toll during the permanent assembly.
Otherwise, the minga would act in taking tolls on Route 45, the organization warned.
Likewise, the Misak people announced during an act in Misak Square, in this capital, that they will continue to resist the policy of a government that militarily makes all the existing forms of struggle in the regions invisible.
"There are more than 60 murdered in the context of the strike, more than 600 disappeared, we do not have the number of how many people have been injured in the country," denounced Tata Pedro Velasco, governor of the ancestral territory of Guambía and political spokesman for the Movement of Indigenous Authorities of the South West.
We are against the decree of April 28, announced by Duque, with which he intends to militarize the country, especially eight departments in the southwest where the points of resistance are, said the indigenous leader.
He asserted that life is more important than war in a democracy that is hurt, that has the paramilitary spirit, the spirit of drug trafficking and the military.
'Against that government we say no. We resist that corrosive power, we resist prosecutions, we resist bullets, we resist the militarization of our peoples, of our bodies and our voices, 'he emphasized.
Yesterday, the National Unemployment Committee denounced that the Duque government still does not establish a negotiation process with the social sectors that bring together part of the demands demanded in the streets.
He stressed that after six days he sent observations and adjustments to the pre-agreement of guarantees of protest reached on May 24.
It is not about adjustments in the wording as they had announced, it is about undoing the pre-agreement reached and thus closing any possibility of negotiation, he said.
However, the Committee warned that the national strike continues and that is why it will call for the largest, most organized and peaceful mobilizations in the history of Colombia to promote a great dialogue with youth and society on the change agenda that citizens demand. on the streets.
In addition, it will convene a social and political Summit in defense of democracy, the group reported.
