Following the unfortunate accident that occurred on the bridge over the lake "General Rafael Urdaneta", users will be travelling on a "two-way" road for 10 days while repair work is carried out.
In the accident, where one person lost their life and the car fell into Lake Maracaibo, 17 protection railings were destroyed between substations 3 and 4 of the main Zulian road artery.
According to information provided in a press release by the National Urban Transport Fund, "the reverse flow of vehicles on the viaduct will be maintained without stopping operations but with restrictions on passage."
Ten days is the period established by the National Urban Transport Fund for the repairs of the 17 railings destroyed in the tragic accident, leaving a section visibly unprotected.
The authorities reiterated that the viaduct will continue to operate 24 hours a day, "but will continue to operate counter-flow in this section until it is fully restored."
