The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned Europe as the epicenter of the pandemic today.

Protests in Europe over anti-covid measures

On the European continent, the rise in infections has caused some countries such as Austria and the Netherlands to take drastic measures regarding the confinement of the population. According to information from the local press, this series of measures has aroused large demonstrations in different countries.

In Austria, thousands of people held a protest this Sunday, after the government announced a new national shutdown and the mandatory vaccination by February 2022

Also, on Sunday in Brussels, the Belgian capital, unvaccinated people took to the streets to protest against the anti-covid measures. The protesters mainly oppose the implementation of health passes that prevent the unvaccinated from entering restaurants or bars, among other commercial premises.

For its part, in the Netherlands, protests continue against the restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The protesters threw stones and fireworks at the uniformed men and set fire to police vehicles.

These events occur after a few days ago, the Netherlands dictated a partial confinement of three weeks due to the boom in the number of cases.

The streets in Croatia and Italy were also filled with protesters

Meanwhile, in Croatia thousands of people demonstrated in the capital, Zagreb, to show their rejection of the mandatory vaccination of public sector workers.

In Italy, thousands more gathered in the ancient Circus Maximus in Rome to oppose the certificates of the «green pass« required in workplaces, premises and public transport.

Finally, in France, the authorities had to dissolve the riots on the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, a French overseas department, because some of these also included looting in dozens of businesses..

All these demonstrations occur after Europe has reached the figure of 1.485.491 dead and 81.032.638 infected by covid.

However, European authorities maintain that the main cause of the spread of infections on the continent is unvaccinated people. / Agencies
