This Friday, the governor of Falcón state, Víctor Clark, reported that in the second edition of the "Embracing Health" marathon they managed to perform 750 surgeries and provide more than 7000 healthcare services throughout the 25 municipalities through 24 health centers.
He explained that a medical and nursing team, made up of more than 2.000 professionals, worked in a total of 19 operating rooms for low, medium and high complexity operations, including surgeries for prolapse, hernias, sterilizations, cataracts, pterygium, catheterizations and pacemaker implantation.
“In July we carried out the first one, in which more than 5.000 patients benefited, meaning that in this advanced stage the surgical and care capacity was increased with the objective of providing health and well-being to our people from the strengthened public health system,” he said.
She also detailed that the day provided consultations in cardiology, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, dentistry, internal medicine, physiatry and rehabilitation, among other clinical areas, covering a range of specialized services for children, adults and senior citizens.
In the ophthalmological area, the presence of specialists from the Domingo Luciani hospital in Caracas was highlighted, as well as the commissioning of a third cataract surgery machine thanks to the support of the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, and the Ministry of Popular Power for Health.

Lenda Gutiérrez, from the community of Ciudad Federación (Carirubana municipality), stated that the attention and organization were excellent, for which she thanked the governor and Mayor Luis Manuel Piña for this initiative.
“I came for a cytology and a pelvic ultrasound and I think these days are wonderful because there are many people who do not have the possibility of paying the high cost of the study in the private sector,” she emphasized.
Josefa Guanipa, a resident of the Las Margaritas community (Carirubana municipality), added that thanks to the medical assistance deployment, she was able to catch up on several tests and studies that were requested to verify her health status.
“I have many health conditions, and that's why they sent me several tests that I'm having done today; I hope that these sessions will be held periodically to benefit all the people of Falcón who need them,” he said.
