76 kilometers of agricultural roads restored in western Falcón

The project guarantees a boost to the activity of more than 300 local producers.

Approximately 76 kilometers of agricultural roads have been rehabilitated and improved in the western part of Falcón state, according to the state's governor, Víctor Clark.

He added that in the municipality of Democracia (Pedregal), the coordination with rural communes and communal circuits consolidated 56 kilometers of agricultural roads as part of the plan in the south of the Purureche and Avaria parishes.

This project guarantees better connectivity and boosts the activity of more than 300 local producers, in addition to progressively including other priority sectors such as Paño Blanco, Quebrada Abajo and Tupure.

For his part, Mayor Rómulo Gutiérrez reported on the acquisition of a patrol-type motor grader, which was made with resources obtained through the Federal Government Council to consolidate road works in the jurisdiction.

“The agricultural road project has covered 56 kilometers, and we expect that with the addition of the new equipment we will double the kilometers before the end of the year,” Gutiérrez said.

Meanwhile, in the municipality of Buchivacoa (Zazárida), the regional government delivered 20 kilometers of improved road in the Goajiro-Bariro section, an action that facilitates the mobilization and distribution of crops and livestock to consumption centers.

Clark stated that, using heavy machinery and together with road crews, they improved the road surface and drainage system of the section.

“The base layer was prepared by hauling, spreading and compacting gravel to stabilize the terrain in critical areas; asphalt primer was applied, the sides were cleaned, vegetation was cleared and ditches were formed to ensure the correct channeling of rainwater and extend the useful life of the road,” the regional leader explained.

He said that the rehabilitation directly benefits dozens of agricultural and livestock production units, guaranteeing safe transit, reducing travel times and lowering transportation operating costs for producers located between Goajiro and Bariro, in response to the policies to strengthen the food sector promoted by President Delcy Rodríguez.
