100% of the electoral centers in the state of Miranda are operational, receiving all Venezuelans who participate this December 3 in the consultative referendum in defense of Essequibo, reported the governor of that entity, Héctor Rodríguez.
In this sense, in statements offered after voting, he pointed out that during the installation of the polling stations, only one incident was recorded with an electoral machine which was immediately replaced.
"All the machines and all the centres are working normally," he stressed.
On the other hand, he welcomed the development of the electoral campaign in view of this popular consultation which, in his opinion, has served for Venezuelans to know more about the historical rights that assist us in our claim over the Essequibo.
"It has been an educational campaign, one of national unity, which has brought together people and united the popular will, which is atypical in recent campaigns in our country. It has been a campaign that has helped the population to know more about our history and our territory," he said, while assuring that during the electoral process on December 3, political colors will disappear and Venezuela will emerge as a whole.
In this sense, he reiterated the call to the entire community to go out and vote to show the world the unanimous decision of Venezuelans to defend our Essequibo.
Election day started early in Miranda
In the state of Miranda, the democratic act in defense of the Essequibo Territory began very early this Sunday. Plan República officials reported that most of the voting centers opened their doors at the time stipulated by the National Electoral Council (CNE).
The officers noted that in some electoral centers there were machine and internet connectivity failures, such was the case of the Padre Salvador National School Group voting center, located in the San Fernando parish of the Páez municipality in the Barlovento subregion, where they have two tables. The faults were resolved in less than an hour.
In some voting centers, lines of voters were evident to participate in the consultative referendum, such as the UEN Dr. Obdulio Álvarez, Cein Vallecito I in Ocumare del Tuy and the EBE Chacao in Yare.
In Miranda, 1.332 centers and 2.761 tables are active so that 2.163.358 citizens can exercise their right to vote.
