Executive branch and IDB finalize financing for national economic activity that closes at 6,5% in the third quarter

National Economic Council and IDB Invest open financing pathway for companies, entrepreneurs and communes.

During the opening of the working session with the IDB Invest delegation within the National Economic Council, President Delcy Rodríguez celebrated the beginning of a new stage of relations with the multilateral financial system, aimed at allocating resources and investment for infrastructure, public services and the revitalization of the national productive apparatus.

Accompanied by representatives from various business chambers, the government team, and the delegation from the Inter-American Development Bank headed by the general manager of IDB Invest, James Scriven, the president stated that the meeting responds to a long-standing demand from the country's productive sectors and announced that, according to the macroeconomic projections of the Central Bank of Venezuela, the country has accumulated 22 consecutive quarters of positive performance, estimating a growth of 6,5% for the third quarter.

"This is a historic moment. Venezuela is going through historic times these days (...), and this meeting with IDB Invest will allow us to do something that has always been a demand of our business owners, our producers, our entrepreneurs, and that is to have financing mechanisms for economic activity in Venezuela," Rodríguez said.

Boost to the private sector, industry and the community economy.

The head of state stressed that talks are progressing in both the public and private sectors, highlighting the need to leverage the installed capacity in the country's various productive and industrial sectors.

"I consider financing for the private sector very important, that the private sector finds mechanisms to expand its activity in this new stage of relationship with the Inter-American Development Bank," the president emphasized, also noting that these schemes should have an impact at all levels: "I was talking about the community economy, the communal economy, the entrepreneurial economy, that all sectors of the economy at their different levels can experience what it is like to access these financing mechanisms," she stressed.

President Rodríguez framed this visit within the series of meetings held with international organizations during her recent work agenda in New York, aimed at leveraging structuring projects and stabilizing basic services, with a special focus on the electricity sector.

“This entire agenda that we have been developing with the multilateral financial system (…) is for development, for investment and financing in infrastructure, in services. You know that we are in a process of recovering the National Electric System under very different conditions, because we can now access suppliers of spare parts, we can now access technology,” he explained.

"Told me James says that the Inter-American Development Bank has an agenda that includes Venezuela."Second Venezuela and third Venezuela, and we say that we have an agenda that is the future of Venezuela, the development of Venezuela, so that it translates into the happiness of our people," added Rodríguez.

At the end of her speech, President Delcy reiterated her call for inclusive national unity: "There is no room for pettiness. There is room for all Venezuelans to lead us toward economic growth and the social well-being of our people," she concluded.
