Development of the Orinoco Belt will generate more than 100.000 jobs

The planned operational deployment will require a significant addition of personnel in the drilling and services area.

The executive vice president of Petróleos de Venezuela SA (Pdvsa), Jovanny Martínez, stated that professional activity linked to exploitation in the Orinoco Belt will generate some 100.000 new jobs.

He explained that this amount would cover all associated technical and logistical activities. He also stated that this work dynamic will not only revitalize the oil industry but will also boost the country's economic and social development, primarily at the local level.

He also noted that the planned operational deployment will require a massive addition of personnel in the drilling and services area nationwide.

Martínez explained that each drilling rig operates in three daily shifts, therefore requiring the hiring of 60 workers for its direct operations.

Given the projected reactivation of 250 drilling rigs in the country, more than 50.000 workers dedicated exclusively to the operation of drilling rigs and about 70 rebar workers per unit will be required.

These jobs will be created within the framework of the signing of new energy cooperation agreements with international companies"Pdvsa is expected to exceed production of 1,5 million barrels per day by 2027," highlighted its president, Héctor Obregón.
